Sideboard / Cabinet by Jules Leleu circa 1926.
Leleu, along with Ruhlman, were the most significant Art Deco designers of the 1920s.
In 1925 Leleu was hired to decorate the Parisian apartment of the Prince of Monaco. He designed the first exotic wood & ivory rose bouquet decorated sideboard for this assignment. He continued to make use of this design for several years after.

ROUX Alexander
Mahogany console by Alexander Roux,
signed "Alexander Roux / 478 B-Way / NY"
Roux's shop was located at this address between 1838-1848.
This is a rare early signed work by one of America's most important cabinet maker of the 19th century.
Alexander Roux (1813–1886) was a French-trained cabinet maker, who emigrated to the United States in the 1830s. In 1837 he opened a shop in NYC. The business grew quickly: by the 1850s he was one of America's most successful and important furniture makers, employing over 120 craftsmen.
Roux specialized in ornate Rococo Revival style, but produced many others. His work is highly sought by collectors, with larger and more complex pieces fetching large sums. One of his sideboards was featured in a 2000 exhibit at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. see: http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/works-of-art/68.100.1

Andrew Szoeke (b. 1916 - d. 1999)
Andrew Szoeke is well known among collectors of mid-20th-century furniture...Szoeke, born in Hungary, immigrated to the United States from Vienna in 1921, developed a style rooted in the Central European tradition that birthed the Wiener Werkstaadt and the Bauhaus school. In addition to designing furniture with exotic woods imported from Europe, he worked as a calligrapher and illustrator for advertising agencies and publishers. .
